Numerical Simulation of Air Intake of Aviation Piston Engines

Abstract
The present paper contains the results that were used in designing a digital twin instance of an air intake system of a piston engine. Using the digital twin instance of the air intake system of the piston engine, we proposed and approved the engineering solutions, how to improve the intake system efficiency. Efficiency criteria are represented by the aerodynamic drag of intake system channels and the uniformity of the air charge distribution over engine cylinders. Based on the calculations conducted, the recommendations have been made on improving the operating efficiency of given systems.
