Constrained Compression of a Transversely Isotropic Elastic Plate Weakened by a Circular Hole

Abstract
This work is devoted to parametric analysis of the stress state of a transversely isotropic elastic plate weakened by a circular hole, with constrained compression in one direction. Different ratios of the plate’s elastic characteristics in orthogonal directions are considered. The tangential stress in the plate at the hole contour is determined as a function of that ratio.
