Improving the Efficiency of a Transistor Converter for Capacitive Ignition Systems in Aircraft Engines

Abstract
The possibility of increasing the efficiency of a converter based on a field effect transistor (FET) with integral control is considered. An improved configuration for a mass-produced single-ended flyback converter based on a field effect transistor is proposed, for use in the capacitive ignition system of an aircraft engine. An experimental prototype is developed.
