Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of the influence of external conditions and features of the geometry of deposited specimens on the accuracy of selective laser melting (SLM). The study involves experiments on determining the geometric factors of comb-type reference specimens that are most sensitive to variations in process conditions. It is established that the key indicator is the ratio of the radius of surface curvature to the length of the specimen, and that its desirable limit value is 6.14. The results can be used to determine the process reproducibility index and to develop control checklists for short series, ensuring stability and quality of parts manufacture using the SLM technology.
