Assessing the Crack Resistance of Steel from the Complete Tensile Deformation Diagram
摘要
Abstract
The complete tensile deformation diagrams of steel are investigated; the parameters of unstable crack growth are determined. A method is proposed for determining the critical crack length by analysis of the deformation diagram with limitingly stiff loading on the basis of Griffith’s principle regarding the minimum potential energy. This approach is verified in tests of 15Kh2MFA structural steel. The fracture strength of the steel is determined from the critical crack length.
