Abstract <p>The existing approach to assessing the feasibility of manufacturing a product design is defective: the feasibility is considered in terms of production, operation, and maintenance, but disposal of the product is ignored. We propose coefficients taking account of the influence of the design characteristics on the labor intensity in manufacturing, operating, maintaining, and disposing of the product.</p>
