Abstract <p>The design defects of camshafts in internal combustion engines are considered. Factors complicating the repair and restoration of worn cams are noted. In the proposed new camshaft design, the cams are attached to the supporting surface of the shaft by special fasteners. That facilitates their removal for restoration or repair.</p>
