Surface Profile Changes in Contact of Metal and Powder Coating with Slipping Friction at Low Temperatures
摘要
Abstract
The surface profiles at contact between metals and wear-resistant coatings with slipping friction are investigated, at low temperatures. The frictional interaction is described by a probabilistic approach on the basis of the de Moivre–Laplace theorem. That provides the statistical basis for the hypothesis that the profile heights of the frictional surfaces are normally distributed.
