Abstract <p>The article presents studies of functional characteristics of materials used in the brake disc–pad pair that establish key parameters that determine the performance of this friction pair. Analysis of operational characteristics of brake discs and pads, as well as identification of factors that reduce their service life, reveals opportunities to increase durability of these parts.</p>
