Abstraсt <p>The article establishes the main causes of failure of press punches and dies. Methods for increasing the wear resistance of forming parts during punching are considered. The mechanical properties of steels used for tooling manufacture are analyzed. Calculations show that the presence of carbide phases and alloying chemical elements increases wear resistance of the tooling.</p>
