Selecting the Best Working Fluid in Machining Copper Alloys
摘要
Abstract
The lubricant properties of the working fluids at the interfaces of copper and tool alloys are investigated. An empirical formula describing the influence of the limiting wetting angle on the effectiveness of the working fluid is derived. If the proposed formula is used to select the working fluid in the machining of copper alloys by uncoated hard-alloy tools, laborious testing may be eliminated and no expensive equipment is required.
