Abstract

The article considers the ultimate plastic strain of sheets made of aluminum alloy AD1-M under single point incremental forming without support (SPIF). Strain tensors and maximum and minimum principal strains are determined by computer simulation of the forming process. Industrial robot control programs are developed and used to perform the forming operations and determine forming depth until ductile fracture of specimens. Maximum forming limits are determined. It is established that when using SPIF, the forming limit is 5 times higher than the allowable strain of the same material during conventional forming.
