Abstract <p>The motion of a locomotive on curved sections of the track is considered. Based on the mathematical model of wear of the locomotive wheel flange, its wear rate and the time until the limit wear of the wheel flange are determined. Comparison of the obtained wear time of the wheel flange with previously published data showed the adequacy of the proposed model.</p>
