Abstract <p>The main parameters of the electrical starting system with a direct starter and electromagnetic excitation are calculated. Two modes (at maximum power and maximum efficiency of the starter) are proposed based on the similarity theory when calculating the electromechanical parameters of the starter under low temperature. The requirement to minimize the mass of the automotive battery and starter is considered.</p>
