Study of Contact Stiffness in Mechanism Joints

Abstract
The study investigates contact stiffness in joints of mechanisms. The relationships used for calculation of contact-stiffness-related changes in the parameters of joints, relative to design values, are considered. Refined calculations are presented for threaded joints, incorporating the distribution of loads along thread turns, for interference-fit joints under different loads and taking into account fretting corrosion, and for flat belt transmissions.
