Abstract <p>An end mill with cutting inserts fixed in slots at the end surface of the mill housing is considered. This design ensures the required rake and rear angles. In addition, the tips of the insert extend beyond the diameter <i>D</i> of the mill’s cylindrical section by a specified amount.</p>
