Impact on Three-Layer Cylindrical Panel with Fiberglass Filler

Abstract
The influence of interlayer defects—voids of arbitrary shape—on the stress–strain state of a cylindrical three-layer panel simulating part of a civil aircraft’s roof flap under impact is studied numerically by the finite-element method. The honeycomb panel filler consists of SSP-1 fiberglass, which is bounded by monolayers of a polymer composite—specifically, KMKS adhesive prepreg. The results for panels with and without defects are compared.
