Reliability Assessment of Capacitive Ignition Systems with Partial Redundancy in Normal and Emergency Operating Modes
摘要
Abstract
The circuit design of capacitive ignition systems with partial redundancy, i. e., with one converter for two semiconductor spark plugs for small-sized gas turbine engines, is analyzed. Based on the analysis of the laws of discharge processes, the problem of assessing the reliability of the ignition system with partial redundancy with a series connection of semiconductor spark plugs for normal and emergency operation modes is solved. Reliability is assessed by calculating the probability of failure-free operation with a given reliability distribution and known failure rates of all elements. Possibilities of increasing the reliability of ignition systems with one converter for two spark plugs are shown.
