Development of Modified Short-Run Target Control Charts and Determination of Capability Indices for Analysis of Controllability of Small Batch Production Processes

Abstract
A technique of statistical analysis of process capability for small batch production of parts with complex geometry is developed. It is shown that under consistent dimensional tolerances analysis of control charts of mean values of all deviations reveals conditions of violations of process capability for a group of dimensions under the condition of homogeneity of variance of deviations of dimensions from nominal values. The metrics of process capability and controllability for small batch production also include capability indices calculated based on deviations and the presence (absence) of a trend towards an offset of the average deviation from the center of the tolerance band.
