Nonlinear Effects in Modeling Rotor Systems on Hydrodynamic Fluid Film Bearings

Abstract
Two methods for determining the equilibrium positions of the rotor in hydrodynamic bearings with axial throttling are considered. A complex mathematical model of a rigid symmetric rotor on hydrodynamic fluid film bearings and calculations of the moving equilibrium curves, stiffness coefficients and damping of the lubricant layer depending on the rotor speed, and the lubricant supply pressure are presented.
