Improving the Load Capacity of Roller Bearings by Reducing the Contact Stress

Abstract
Crowned rollers of radial bearings are investigated by determining the contact parameters of two cylinders with misalignment. Formulas are derived for the radii of two types of convex (barrel-shaped) roller surfaces and the contact stress.
