Machining of Resurfaced Gas-Turbine Engine Components: Precision of Wire-Cut Electrical Discharge Machining

Abstract
The machining precision attainable in wire-cut electrical discharge machining of restored (resurfaced) gas-turbine engine components is considered. Mathematical models are derived to describe the influence of the machining conditions on the final precision. Recommendations are formulated to ensure manufacturing precision of restored gas-turbine engine components.
