Slow Flow in Upsetting Titanium Rods

Abstract
The shaping of an element of titanium rod in hot stamping is considered. In CAE (computer-aided engineering) modeling, the deformation of rods of different cross section at different tool speeds is calculated. The upsetting forces, the stress state at hazardous sections of the rod, and the deformation parameters are analyzed. The dependence of the stress state on the deformation speed and forces is established.
