Phase Composition of Cast Intermetallic Fe–Al Alloys Produced by Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis

Abstract
The production of cast intermetallic Fe–Al alloys by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis from composites consisting of aluminum wire with a pressed thermite coating (a mixture of iron oxide and aluminum powder) is considered. The phase composition of samples with different aluminum content is determined.
