Abstract <p>Experimental data on the content of alloying elements in structural steels 40Kh and 38Kh2MYuA are presented. The results of calculating the hardness increase of the nitrided layer depending on the concentration of alloying elements, as well as experimental data on the hardness increase of the nitrided layer for the specified steels, are provided.</p>
