Abstract <p>The paper proposes a correction algorithm for hydrological observations of water temperature and a corrected data assimilation algorithm for water body surface temperature over Russia. These algorithms are used to prepare initial data for the new version of the SLAV10 model with a horizontal grid resolution about 10 km. The correction algorithm for hydrological observations of water temperature allows eliminating the ambiguity of temperature coding at most hydrological posts. Assimilation of corrected hydrological observations helps to reduce water body surface temperature error in the SLAV10 model initial data.</p>
