Abstract <p>The main results of long-term studies (from the 1980s to 2020) of the precipitation composition in the Primorsky krai (Primorye) and the seasonal variability of atmospheric particulate matter concentrations and elemental composition (in 1986–1989) at the background monitoring station in the Sikhote-Alin Biosphere Reserve are presented. Based on the data of the stations for monitoring the chemical composition of precipitation, the variability of acidity, sulfate and nitrate concentrations, as well as of nitrogen and sulfur deposition flows was analyzed. It is shown that the transboundary transport of acid-forming substances from the territory of China is one of the reasons for the increase in precipitation acidity in Primorye. The flow of wet nitrogen deposition in the south of Primorye in the 21st century has reached the values that are dangerous for local forest vegetation. Both the composition of anthropogenic emissions in the main emission centers of East Asia and the variability of cyclonic circulation in the region influence the variability of the precipitation composition in Primorye.</p>

Abstract
