摘要

Abstract

Morphometric characteristics of 48 lakes within the Bolshoy Solovetsky Island western lake-channel hydraulic system (the White Sea) are analyzed according to the literature and authors’ data. Evaluative calculations of relative depth showed that 19 lakes may be meromictic. The hydrological studies on seven lakes have confirmed the presence of meromixis for six of them. The stability of meromictic lakes and the possibility of chemocline destruction in autumn and mixing of water to the bottom in some lakes are assessed. In dimictic lakes, the destruction of thermocline by winds is unlikely in summer. In autumn, the convective component prevails in the water mixing due to a higher mineralization of the surface layer.
