Abstract

The development and production of insulating and sealing materials resistant with respect to aggressive environments such as ozone represent an urgent problem, especially under the conditions of outdoor equipment operation and in ozone-generating plants. There are two approaches to making ozone-resistant insulation consisting in the use of protective coatings and in the development of compounds resistant with respect to ozone while maintaining all the necessary mechanical and dielectric properties. The present work is aimed at studying the effect of filler content and filling technology exerted on the ozone resistance of a specially designed glass-filled filling compound. The material under study is intended for the use in insulating structures operated in an environment of high and ultrahigh concentration of ozone. A level of long-term bending strength of the material is accepted as the criterion of durability.
