Abstract <p>The increasing use of solid cast-insulated busbars in electrical installations leads to the need to develop approaches to diagnostics and control of their technical condition, as well as to the identification and analysis of factors that contribute to the formation of insulation defects and equipment failures. Modeling of discharge phenomena in extended defects of solid insulation of busbars is considered, the value of active power capable of being released in such defects is estimated, and methods of their diagnosis and monitoring are analyzed.</p>
