Research on the Engineering Level of an Integrated Starter–Generator

This article presents an overview of patent developments of leading aviation equipment manufacturers in the field of integrated starter–generators (SGs) for gas turbine engines. A comprehensive analysis of the SG technical characteristics is performed, possible areas of integration of electric SGs into a gas turbine engine, and types of electric machines for these purposes are determined. The technical level indicators and development trends of integrated SGs are presented. Conclusions are made on the current technological state of SG developments, and recommendations for its improvement are proposed.
