Abstract
The basic principles and foreign experience (according to IEC and CIGRE data) of the development, calculations, and tests for short-circuit withstandability of large-scale mockups of powerful single-phase power transformers and the rules for applying the test results of the mockup to a real transformer to confirm its withstandability are considered. The possibility of developing and testing such mockups to confirm the reliability of powerful Russian-made transformers is shown.
