On the Methodology for Studying the Traction Electric Drive of Locomotives in the Modes of Ultimate Forces

Abstract
This article considers the issue of implementing electric-drive locomotives with maximum traction and braking forces, the reasons for the occurrence of self-oscillatory processes in the traction system are identified and the results of their modeling are presented. A classification of the main control algorithms used in modes of maximum forces is given. The feasibility and principles of combining software packages for testing control algorithms for an electric drive in modes of maximum forces are demonstrated, and the prospects for developing a modeling methodology based on a combination of the SimInTech and Universalmechanism software packages are justified.
