A DC–DC Converter as Part of a Controlled Stationary Energy-Storage Unit in the Subway Traction Power-Supply System

Abstract
Controlled energy-storage devices are a promising method for increasing the efficiency of traction power-supply systems. A dc–dc converter is an integral part of the storage design, required to coordinate the storage operation with the traction power-supply system and to execute control algorithms. This article considers several circuits of converters, control-signal generation systems, and proposes models of mathematical simulation thereof implemented using the MATLAB Simulink package and the SimPowerSystems library.
