Abstract

A semiconductor reactive power controller with high-quality reactive current regulation and high technical and economic indicators is considered. The advantages of using switches based on thyristor switches as parts of reactive power compensators are shown. A semiconductor reactive power controller technology based on real-time control of an equivalent reactive element is presented. The use of a “binary” thyristor-switched capacitor group is considered as one of the most optimal power circuit implementations. Algorithms for active-adaptive control and high quality of network current and voltage, including reactive current control switching, are proposed. The block diagram of the device control system is considered, which ensures automatic maintenance of optimal network operating modes by updating the parameters of network digital mathematical twins and selecting the best operating mode of a semiconductor reactive power controller. The functional capabilities of the device are shown, allowing it to be integrated into modern active-adaptive electrical networks and digital substations. The operation results of pilot industrial samples are presented, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed technical solutions. The possibilities of scaling the technology in wide ranges of voltage and power classes are noted. The prospects for the development and application of devices are shown.
