Design of Biochemical Wastewater Treatment Systems at Coke Plants

Abstract
Coke plant wastewater is difficult to process on account of its many impurities differing in composition and also in chemical and physicochemical properties. Accordingly, in the design of biochemical treatment systems, characterized by more stringent requirements on wastewater purity than for existing two-stage systems, nonstandard problems must be solved, and a comprehensive approach must be adopted in many cases. The present article summarizes VUKhIN’s many years of experience in the design and introduction of systems for physicochemical and biochemical wastewater treatment at coke plants.
