Production of Special Coke for Electrothermal Silicon Production from Central Kazakhstan Coal
摘要
Nonclinkering coal from the Shubarkol, Kuu-Chek, and Sary Adyr fields in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan are considered; the types of coal and their properties are determined, and coal samples are subjected to petrographic analysis. Technology for producing special coke from such coal is outlined. The influence of this technology on the properties and microstructure of the reducing agents produced is studied. The reducing agents may be used in the electrothermal production of industrial-grade silicon.
