Abstract <p>The paper examines the problem of nonuniform radial current decay during current input/output in a no-insulated HTS coil. An approach is proposed that considers the radial current eigenmodes that decay with time, which explains the experimentally observed presence of several exponential processes. The approach is substantiated using the equivalent circuit method and is illustrated by an experiment with a no-insulated HTS test coil.</p>
