Integrated Digital System for Automatic Electrical Control of a Ladle Furnace

Abstract
This paper presents the results of the development and implementation of an automatic power control system (APCS) for a ladle furnace. The APCS is based on a programmable logic controller (PLC) and standard high-speed analog input/output modules, ensuring high reliability. Key achievements include: precise arc parameter measurement through processing of instantaneous current and voltage values, real-time mode correction, transformer load balancing, and overload protection. This development minimizes energy losses, improves arc stability, and ensures reliability and ease of maintenance.
