Abstract <p>Investigation results for the elements of a bearing involved in the turbine of a gas turbine engine made of 8Kh4V9F2 (EI347) grade steel are presented. It has been concluded that the destruction of the bearing elements under the conditions of insufficient oil supply has occurred for a short time, wgereas the revealed damages of bearing elements most likely can be caused by an aviation accident, as well as by a prolonged operation of the bearing under the conditions of oil supply interruption.</p>
