Abstract

An experimental trial of an industrial-scale production technology for seamless tubes made of VT1-0 and PT-7M titanium alloys is conducted on a TPA 70-270 tube mill. Preliminary computer modeling is performed using the QForm 3D software package, for which deformation zones are designed to produce 159 × 13 mm tubes in two operations: piercing and rolling. It is established that the selected temperature-deformation conditions and tool calibration ensure the required geometric tube dimensions, while the equipment loads do not exceed permissible limits. During the pilot rolling, an analysis of the piercing and rolling process is performed in terms of the geometry, surface quality of the resulting tubes, and the level of energy-power parameters, as well as an assessment of the tool working surface (piercing mandrels and guide shoes). The mechanical properties of the resulting tubes made from VT1-0 and PT-7M alloys comply with the requirements of regulatory documentation for seamless tubes made from titanium alloys (GOST 21945–2023).
