Abstract

A technological process for hot stamping of forgings with blind cavities was developed, which allows reducing heating and specific forces on the tool and increasing its durability. The proposed technology includes the operations of piercing a blind cavity and hot volume stamping of the outer profile of the forging. To increase the durability of the tool when obtaining an internal cavity, it is proposed to first obtain a cavity in the blank by hot piercing, exceeding the finished one in diameter and depth, and then perform the final formation of the internal cavity and the outer profile of the forging by hot stamping. To select the process parameters, the blank shaping, stress-strain state and technological force along the stamping transitions were studied using the digital modeling method in the QForm program. An assessment of the tool wear is given.
