Assessment of the Influence of Surface Preparation Quality on the Strength of Joints Restored Using Polymeric Materials

Abstract
This article considers the features of various methods of grinding metal surfaces during repair work. An analysis is made of the influence of the surface machining technique on the strength characteristics of the metal joints restored using polymeric materials and operated mainly under conditions of exposure to negative temperatures. The methods of abrasive belt, cylindrical, eccentric and flapwheel surface grinding before gluing with abrasive materials of different grain sizes are considered in detail.
