Updating the Regulatory Framework in the Field of Nondestructive Testing of Rolling Rolls as a Tool for Improving the Quality of Metal Products
摘要
Damages in working rolls as a basic tool for the rolling production should be detected and assessed immediately. The roll operating conditions severely limit the applicability of most NDT methods. Efficient tools for NDT of working rolls, both in the course of their operation (noncontact methods) and when the rolling mill is stopped are proposed. The software-and-hardware implementation of the proposed NDT methods can be carried out based on Russian domestic automatic systems. The prospects of transition from flaw detection to defectometry is noted, taking into account the experience accumulated by specialists in this field. The lack of relevant regulatory, technical and methodological documents concerning the NDT of rolling rolls hinders the improvement of the quality and efficiency of metallurgical products manufacturing.
