Analysis of Isothermal Bainite Transformation in Alloyed Steels by Means of Generalized Kinetic Equation

Abstract

The differential equation for the mathematical description of isothermal bainite transformation generalizing the Austin–Rickett and Kolmogorov–Johnson–Mehl–Avrami equations is proposed. The peculiarities of using the obtained equation in the analysis of model transformation kinetics are considered. The parameter values of the model and experimental time dependences of the fraction of a transformed substance are established. The regularities of the linear relation between the parameters n and ln(k) of the generalized equation are stipulated. The experimental kinetics of isothermal bainite transformation in alloyed steels of different purpose is analyzed. It is established that for bainite of different morphology formed in different temperature ranges, there are specific values of the parameter c of the generalized equation.
