Automated Parametric Algorithm for Designing a Three-Roll Stand for Radial Shear Rolling

Abstract
The efficiency of three-roll radial-shear rolling (RSR) mills is assessed as a part of the project of making production lines for rolling metal products. A generalized algorithm for automated parametric design of a working stand of a three-roll RSR mill is considered. The main stages in developing its design elements are described. In the calculation method, the working roll is taken as the basic design parameter, which determines the overall dimensions of the working stand. The resulting three-dimensional model can be used at a stage of draft design for prompt development according to the requirements of the technical specifications and for the implementation of the design unification concept for different standard sizes.
