摘要

Abstract

The results of tests to determine the impact toughness of samples made from honeycomb core with varying degrees and schemes of filling its cells with silicone elastomer are presented. It has been established that complete filling of the cells of the honeycomb core with silicone elastomer increases the average impact toughness both when striking the sample parallel to the flat surface and perpendicularly to the edge. Filling half of the cells of the honeycomb core with silicone elastomer according to different schemes allows for achieving impact toughness during tests by striking the sample parallel to the flat surface that is practically similar to that of samples with fully filled cells. However, when striking perpendicularly to the edge, the samples with partially filled cells in various schemes show a decrease in impact toughness compared to both unfilled and fully filled samples with silicone elastomer. Nonetheless, partial filling of the cells helps to prevent complete destruction of the samples and reduces the degree of crushing when the pendulum impact is directed perpendicularly to the edge.
