Comparative Analysis of the Efficiency of Cutting Tools for Turning Thermoplastics in the Manufacture of Parts for the Repair of Technological Equipment

Abstract
The efficiency of turning polymeric materials with cutting ceramics has been estimated. It has been experimentally proven that turning caprolon and fluoroplastic using a cutting plate made of KNT16 cermet provides a higher quality of the treated surface. This is evidenced by lower values of roughness parameters and the type of chips compared to the turning option with a VK8 tungsten-cobalt alloy.
