Efficient Protection of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment from Ionizing Effects

Abstract
This article presents the results of radiation contamination tests for various modified paint and varnish coatings. It is shown that it is almost impossible to provide the required level of radiation protection with one mono-additive. When testing protective coatings with the introduction of several additives, optimal combinations are determined. Thus, when combining zeolite with nano-sized silicon dioxide, a pronounced positive effect is noted, and the degree of contamination is reduced by two and a half to three times from 0.72 to 0.26 α-particle/(cm2 min). For β measurements, the values of radiation contamination also have minimal values—0.43 against 1.36 β-particle/(cm2 min) for control coatings.
