Comparative Study of the Effectiveness of Natural and Industrial Inhibitors under Carbon Dioxide Corrosion Conditions

Abstract
A composition of a plant-based corrosion inhibitor was developed based on spruce bark extract. The inhibitory efficiency of the developed reagent composition was tested under conditions of carbon dioxide corrosion in two aqueous solutions of different mineralization in comparison with two industrially produced corrosion inhibitors. It was found that the plant inhibitor may have certain protective properties in neutral aqueous environments. The composition of the plant extract was studied and its main components were determined using the chromatograph mass spectrometric method.
